Discounts

Unisex Rates:  Typically, carriers make available to 3 or more people.  This Multi-Life Discount is normally beneficial to Female docs and professionals whose rates are much higher than the males.  By obtaining this discount and unisex rate, it can save a female professional up to 40%+ of the otherwise rate charged for an individual policy.  It also should be noted, that should one of the people leave this small group of  3, the discount would not be lost.

Association:  Groups with a common Association can obtain 15% and upwards discounts.  Typically used for Hospitals, Medical Societies, etc.

Pension Completion: Currently: In addition to the Individual Non-Cancelable contracts being offered, a new policy is available.  It is used to fund 100% of your pension plan contribution, or up to $40,000 per year. In some cases, $42,000.  I.E. Age 55 at Issue. The companies that offer this product may and do differ in their underwriting practices.  Some might offer the pension completion product ABOVE all other individual policies in force, while another might take into account the in force coverage you presently have. The elimination period is typically 180 days and does NOT provide Residual benefits.  It is usually a TOTAL only contract.  The benefit period generally will be To Age 65. These benefits are normally paid into a “TRUST”, which the insured directs.

Caveat Emptor: The Statements and comment made here are general, and, should not be taken as exact.  For specific benefits, costs, provisions and comparisons, actual policies and language should be used. These comparisons are solely for Quick Reference when dealing with certain ages and current policies being offered.  As the policies, rates, riders, provisions and States where these policies are being offered changes almost daily, the reader should be aware of the caveat emptor.
